Employment Law Webinar

with Douglas Duerr
Tuesday, May 26
6 pm
This event is free for SEDDS members.
Event Description
Even before the current public health emergency, employment law issues were becoming increasingly complex, and dental practitioners/practice owners can struggle to comply with state and federal laws in an effort to reduce-if not prevent-claims and liabilities. However, it is often the most fundamental of issues that get employers into trouble with the law.  This webinar is designed to help you recognize and address the fundamentals as we deal with the current crisis and beyond.
Learning Objectives
After completing this webinar participants will be able to:
  • List employment law errors are dentists particularly prone to.
  • Employment law considerations as you reopen your practice
  • Discuss new federal and state regulations dentists need to be aware of.

Multicooker Decontamination of N95 Respirators

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) is executing high-impact projects to help answer critical questions about the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Vital personal protective equipment such as filtering facepiece respirators (FFRs) is in limited supply due to high demand. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has provided guidance for decontamination and reuse of FFRs where shortages exist, and moist heat is one of their recommended decontamination methods. S&T has identified programmable multi-cookers with a sous vide function, or equivalent setting, as a suitable means to treat FFRs with moist heat at home. For more info, visit the Department of Homeland Security's website.
