About this Course

With the success and predictability of implants, you may think that you will never have to make another denture. Nothing could be farther from the truth. The process of constructing an "approved provisional denture" gives the dentist the ability to determine tooth position and an understanding of the vertical dimension of occlusion as well as the vertical dimension of speech. This is critical in defining the neutral zone and tooth position, not only for function, but aesthetics. This complete denture course will concentrate on the process of complete denture construction and provide the participants and aesthetic and functional checklist to be used to gain predictable results. This class will teach the attendees:

  • Treatment planning implant placement with the approved provisional denture and the clear duplicate
  • To use the Denture Aesthetic and Function Checklist.
  • To fabricate base plates and occlusion rims suing the 10-20 rule, and how to use the base plates and occlusion times in mounting edentulous models on an articulator; this provides a diagnostic mounting.
  • The tooth selection process and setting denture teeth using the Denture Aesthetic and Function Checklist.
  • To use the approved provisional denture to provide all the parameters to ensure success
  • How to use Flow-cast in a predictable manner
  • How to make an accurate centric bite record with the approved provisional denture
  • The finalization process
  • How to fabricate a duplicate denture, a clear duplicate denture, and a scan guide.
  • Recording centric relation, box bead and pouring of the approved provisional denture
  • Selecting the appropriate tooth material; porcelain, plastic or gold
  • When, where and how to use soft liners
